Cling film and freshness bags are common consumables in our daily lives, also known as odor-proof bags. 　　1.PVC Odor-proof bags: In earlier years, most cling films on the market were PVC , cheap and transparent. However, this material has a fatal flaw: it requires a large amount of plasticizers to soften the cling film. When packaging food, these plasticizers easily migrate and contaminate the food, harming the human body; especially PVC cling film, when heated or in contact with oily food, plasticizers are more likely to leach out. Currently, you can no longer see PVC cling film in supermarkets, but in some small food markets or small fruit supermarkets, vendors still use PVC cling film for packaging.

　　2.PE Odor-proof bags: Most supermarkets use PE cling film. If you have a reliable supermarket nearby, the packaging of cooked food, fruits, vegetables, and other semi-finished products inside also uses this material. Theoretically, PE is also safe and cheap, but compared to PVDC , its freshness and odor isolation performance is much worse; polyethylene cling film can be used for microwave heating, but once the temperature exceeds 110 , the polyethylene material will melt.

　　3.PVDC Odor-proof bags: Due to their superior transparency, good self-adhesion and surface gloss, high barrier to gases and water vapor, good moisture retention, and long preservation time, they are widely used in households, supermarkets, and other food packaging. They are currently the cling films with the best overall preservation performance on the market. Relatively, PVDC materials are relatively safe, just a bit more expensive. In recent years, with the localization of PVDC resin raw materials and processing machinery, PVDC cling film costs have greatly decreased.

　　Can freshness bags and other odor-proof bags be used in the microwave? First, PVC odor-proof bags: No need to say more, they cannot hold food, cannot be heated, and are not suitable for holding hot food. Actually, PVC cling film is not common in regular supermarkets, but in some wholesale markets, this cling film still has market space, and many small vendors choose this cling film to store food. Second, PE odor-proof bags: can be used for low-temperature thawing, but it is best to take them out for heating when above 110 temperature. Third, PVDC odor-proof bags: heat resistance temperature is 140 . Microwave heating of low-moisture dry food can reduce moisture loss and prevent food from drying out. It is best to use PVDC cling film for heating.

How to choose cling film? Prioritize choosing PVDC and PE materials, and packaging that indicates microwave heating is safer. First, look at the color: generally, PE material cling film is white with poor transparency; PVDC cling film is slightly yellow, commonly called "golden film," and has high transparency. Second, look at the burning characteristics: PE cling film drips oil when ignited, with no pungent smell. PVC cling film burns quickly, emits black smoke, is extremely pungent, and leaves black residue after the fire goes out. PVDC cling film can burn but immediately extinguishes when removed from the flame. PVDC is also a flame-retardant material. Additionally, in terms of preservation effect, PVDC cling film and freshness bags are currently recognized as odor-proof bags with better overall preservation performance. Because they have excellent barrier properties, heat resistance, transparency, sealing, and good surface gloss, they are being chosen and used by more users.
